In the last flat plan which I have created I have chosen a simple layout in which is conventionally seen in most horror posters, as the main image is seen to be the dominant feature as the image would be used to attract the audience also the title of the film 'Withheld' and the release date of the film 'Coming Soon' is to be seen below the main image as the poster is very simple which the audience tends to prefer as this would also leave them curious about the characters within the film and any information regarding about the movie. As this can be related to the Cloverfield viral campaign as hardly no information regarding the film was shown and remained a mystery making the audience more curious.

Poster Flat Plan #3
This is the third flat plan which I have created as this follows no conventional horror poster, as I have chosen to see how a poster would look if I challenge the basic conventions, as a result a critics feature is included which isn't seen in horror posters, by having critics from different film reviewers tells the audience how the film would be at the blockbuster when released as this is a good method of attracting an audience. I also have the characters name featured as characters often appeal to the audience thus making them come to see the film, the main image is to be seen on the right which also challenges the conventions of horror posters as the main image is dominant, in this flat plan we find features such as the movie title and critics to be attractive as it is located on the left hand thirds.
Poster Flat Plan #2
This is my second flatplan which is different from the first mainly due to how the poster is busy by consisting of many different features. Towards the top of the poster I have placed a less conventional feature by having the characters names as this isn't frequently seen in horror posters, this helps to make the audience more aware about the cast. The title 'Withheld' is seen below which is directly at eye level, on the other hand the main image is again the dominant feature as the image would need to be attractive and appealing. Credits are shown at the far bottom giving the audience the relevant information about the film.
Poster Flat Plan #1
In my first flat plan I have decided to make the main image the dominant subject as is normally conventional in all film posters as the image should be appealing which would instantly grab the attention of the audience. Beneath the main image the movie's name 'Withheld' would be placed as this would be located between the middle of the poster and the audience would easily be able to identify the typeface. The credits which are an important feature of the film trailer would be located at the bottom as this information is rarely seen by the audience but at the same time gives them the needed information about the film, along with the credits an age certificate rating is identified as this is also an important feature in film posters as by showing the age certificate it would directly appeal to someone of that age and above. Overall the layout to this poster is simple and neat and isn't considered to be busy as the audience would prefer this to be eye catching and minimal of any information as this should be remained as suspense till the audience don't watch the film.

Poster Moodboard
Below is a moodboard which i have created as it shows recent film posters from a horror genre which have all been released within the past years, by looking at many different film posters based on horror genres and also other genres I have found that the main image is always dominant over the other features and also the most attractive as this is how it becomes more appealing towards the audience. Especially with horror genre's the housestyle colour scheme is seen to be 'black and red' which are both conventional colours to horror. From gathering this information I would be taking this further and considering challenging these conventions when creating my film poster.

Photoshoot for Poster
This clip shows the possible images that would have been used for our groups individual posters, during the photoshoot we tried to portray 'Holly' who is the victim in our movie as a weak character as her body language is shown to be weak as her facial expressions also show this along with her make up and hair being scruffy showing how she is scared which creates empathy. On the other hand the killer 'Faheem' was portrayed as a more strong character with an aggressive body language as the character is shown to always be in hood covering the face which creates ambiguity also as the narrative of the trailer is based around phone calls, in some images 'Faheem' is seen with a mobile phone to show his character within film.
Colour Schemes
When considering the
possible colour schemes that would be included in both my film poster and also
magazine cover I feel that two contrasting colours will work well together as
these would make the publications look more appealing towards my target
audience. The target audience for both publications would be young mature to
middle aged as they would prefer formal and organised layouts and colours
rather than clashing and messy. The colours I have decided to use are mainly
red and black as this would keep a consistent Housestyle within my media
package and also refer to the basic conventions towards the horror genre.

Possible Tag lines
When thinking of features to use in my film poster I thought
it would be best to include an effective tagline as this gives a small hint of
the narrative to the audience but at the same time creates enigma as the
audience would feel curious. The tagline would have to be effective and grab
the audience’s attention as I considered many taglines and had to choose from
one.
‘Incoming Call.. Death’
The tagline shows the narrative well as in the trailer we see how each incoming call leads to death as this would make the audience curious as if to how can these suspicious calls lead to death and what story is their behind it. Eventually towards when considered I thought this tagline would create a decent amount of tension and doesn’t give away the narrative completely as I decided this would be used in poster.
‘Would you pick up your call?’
This tagline is suitable to include in my horror poster as this is a rhetorical question which is asked to the audience which would make them instantly curious as this would make them come to watch the film, it also tells a good part of the narrative to the audience as it doesn’t give too much information away. When considering using this as my tagline my group considered how something similar to this quote had been used in our trailer as an intertitle as I decided to drop it from my choices of options.
‘Death calls once’
This was an intertitle which was suggested from a friend which I found interesting to use as a tagline within my horror poster as it could appeal well to the audience. I found interesting that the title also connotes how death only happens once and on the other hand when looking at it from the narrative ‘death calls once’ signifying how death only comes to the people who answer their phone. This also starts to become more obvious to the audience in some cases as they could easily understand the narrative without watching the film which is why I dropped it from my choices of options.

Introduction To Poster Production
After successfully created and edited our film trailers, I
would be individually focusing on producing a successful poster for the film
trailer as this would establish how well the upcoming release of the film would
be as this would set high standards for the release. First of all I would
research on the elements which create a good poster by analysing horror film
posters thoroughly as this would help me gather ideas such as conventions and
also make me think about challenging them. Once I have gathered enough
information which would help me show a clear understanding on how I would
picture my poster I will create various flat plans which would show all my
ideas and would help me think of amendments and improvements when coming to
creating the final poster. Lastly I would be creating a proficient and
inventive poster which would reflect upon the information I have gathered.
